Out of all the couples in Hollywood, Alec and Hilaria Baldwin might be one of the most controversial ones. After all, given the hate Hilaria’s gotten for her accent, and Alec’s tragic shooting on the set of Rust in 2021, the couple has been the target of hate and backlash for many years now.
And, if their latest red carpet in any indication, they won’t be winning over fans by their loving interactions either. Earlier this week, the couple attended Planet Hollywood’s reopening in New York City. In it, they talked to Extra TV about a possible season 2 of their new reality show on TLC titled The Baldwins.
“The Hilaria Show,” Alec said in response. From the get-go, Hilaria didn’t approve of her husband’s comment. “No, I think we’re gonna see, you know?” she said. “We’re gonna see how it feels to have it be out there.”
Alec then chimed in and cheered for his wife. “It’s gonna be great,” the actor said. “You’re a winner.”
While the comment was positive, Hilaria took his cheer as an interruption. “Oh, my God. When I’m talking, you’re not talking. No. When I’m talking, you’re not talking,” she said. She then joked that “we’ll just have to cut him out of the show.”
Hilaria then proceeded to expand on her answer, while Alec quietly left the frame and talked to someone behind her. “This is a very raw show and it’s very real and we took a lot of chances and we’ll see where it leads us and we’ll see what it feels to have it be out there,” she continued. “Then we’ll see if people like it, that’s another thing too.”

Their icy interaction wasn’t the only tense moment in the interview either. When talking about their kids’ routine, Alec, who had just returned from another conversation, asked her what “essential” is in Spanish. After responding, Hilaria got visibly irritated.
“Now you’re just doing that,” she told her husband of 12 years. “Like, why? Why are you distracting me?”
Once again, Alec tried to diffuse the situation by complimenting her. “I’m captivated by [her] beauty,” he said. “You’re so beautiful.” Clearly, she wasn’t having it there either.
On social media, users are alarmed by the video. Not only did their dynamic look unhealthy, but the fact that it was in front of cameras made fans wonder what they’re really like behind closed doors.
“Wow! That was incredibly rude, she just showed her true colors,” commented one user on TikTok. “She is so emasculating towards him,” commented another user. “She would be an unknown without him.”
On X, users are not only upset, but some are even diagnosing her as a narcissist or an abuser. “🚨 This is classic narcissistic control—public humiliation, dominance, & ensuring the spotlight is ONLY on her,” one user wrote. “He looks completely defeated.”
“Also not an Alec Baldwin defender/fan BUT – I was married to someone who shushed me – finger and all – in front of our kids. Regularly. This is abuse, IMO,” another X user wrote.
The couple has yet to speak out about the clip.
