A-1 Pictures Has Its Entire Reputation on the Line for One ‘Solo Leveling’ Scene That Can Overshadow the Entire Season

Solo Leveling is one of the most hyped and celebrated anime of this season that is making headlines with its popularity. Fans absolutely love the growth of Jinwoo as a dungeon hunter and are excited to see what more he can offer.

This season, we are also seeing the Jeju Island arc, which is the most anticipated section of the whole series because of its effect on later incidents. Here, the role of the Ant King becomes significant in shaping Jinwoo’s future, and having him represented properly is of utmost importance.

However, many are anxious about A-1 Pictures’ adaptation of a particular scene. They have already altered the design of the Ant King, which people did not really appreciate. Hence, A-1 Pictures should work extra hard to not repeat the mistake any more.

The Ant King’s design sparked concerns among fans

When the first key visual of the Ant King dropped, fans were apprehensive about the color of his design. In the anime, the Ant King is drawn with a blue hue, whereas in the manhwa, he is completely black, with darker shades.

The mysterious look of the Ant King makes him appear way more menacing and fearsome, which should be because of his temperament. He has a murderous aura that even scared the S-ranked hunters. If he had been depicted as monstrous in the anime, then we would have felt the same level of threat.

However, the anime takes a much lighter approach and the Ant King’s ferocity is portrayed with only his actions of killing everyone mercilessly. His depiction is not as complex in the anime, making things much more simplified, and even though it does the job, it is not a great design.

Sadly, this will not do when we get to more important scenes where Jinwoo starts his fight with the Ant King. That entire segment should be even better than his fight with Baran, which was animated pretty nicely.

A-1 Pictures cannot mess up this scene from Solo Leveling

In the next episode, we will see Jinwoo taking on the Ant King in one of the most intense battles of this season. The Ant King will be his toughest opponent yet, and fighting him should not be as simple as Jinwoo’s past clashes.

Here, Jinwoo will manage to finally triumph over the monster that traumatized other hunters and extract his soul. In chapter 105, Jinwoo, after being cast into utter darkness, will summon the soul of the Ant King, with his command.

Then, in a dramatic display of conceding, the Ant King will bow down to Jinwoo, his new ruler and master. This entire panel looks absolutely gorgeous in the manhwa as we see the Ant King’s wings glowing and his dark shadowy embers flowing, showcasing a beautiful scene of triumph.

Now that A-1 Pictures has made a name for itself by animating Solo Leveling mostly satisfactorily, even one mistake will be held against them. Hence, whatever they have done till now is fine with fans, but they will not sit by and watch if the studio fumbles the important parts of the story.
