OFFALY star Shane Lowry carded a four-under-par 66 in the third round of the Travelers Championship.
The Irishman is still well off the pace ahead of Sunday’s final round at TPC River Highlands.


The2019 Open winner got off to a hot start with a front-nine 32, highlighted by birdies at the 2nd, 3rd, 7th holes
He hit just one blemish across the day – a bogey at the par-3 11th – but otherwise remained steady, adding two more birdies on the back nine at the 14th and 17th.
The 2019 Open champion signed for 66 to move to -4 for the tournament overall, having gained signed off for a poor 72 and 73 on days 1 and 2.
He remains well off the lead in T52 with the leaders set to go out on Saturday evening.
Elsewhere, Rory McIlroy remains in the mix at the halfway stage of the Travelers Championship, despite an over-par round on Friday at TPC River Highlands.
The Northern Irishman opened with a bogey-free 64 on Thursday, but endured a nightmare start to his second round, carding three bogeys in his first four holes.
He remains in contention though, just four off the pace.
Scottie Scheffler, Justin Thomas and Tommy Fleetwood hold top spot heading into Saturday’s penultimate round.
Jordan Spieth pulled up during his second round with an injury, the three-time major winner was clearly in discomfort during his opening round.
He received attention from the physio after he made the turn.
But the injury seemingly got worse, and looked like a neck or back issue on the TPC course.
Spieth was then forced to withdraw from the Travelers Championship as he soldiered through 12 holes.
It’s the first time he’s ever withdrawn, and a tough break after wrist surgery last year.
