Ryan Tubridy is deserving a well deserved week off

Martin will be on air from 10am to 1pm all week until this Friday.

The 61-year-old recorded a video of himself sitting happily in the studio and said: “Hello all.

“I’m busy this week. I’m filling in for Ryan on Dublin’s Q102 and here for the entire week.

“Our gorgeous, brand-new shiny, bright and beautiful new studio – it’s very impressive. We’ve been talking about all kinds of things.”

And it looks like Martin caused some controversy with his listeners after speaking about bed bugs.

He explained: “People are giving out about me talking about bed bugs. They’re afraid to get into their beds.

“Just remember folks, those bed bugs, when you climb into bed tonight… they’re waiting for you.”

Martin shared the clip on Instagram and had everyone in stitches laughing.

Paul wrote: “Brilliant Martin.”

Frances said: “Hi Martin, you doing grand. The bed bugs are mine, I know because I the only in my bed, so they when see me coming, they run a mile, because I wear a lot of deep heat, now Martin!”

Emmett added: “So funny this morning with your toilet humour! I nearly s*** myself laughing.”

The Virgin Media host and his wife Jenny share five kids together, Dean, James, Victoria, Matthew and Alex.

Martin’s son Dean is father to five-year-old Mia – and it’s safe to say she loves spending time with her famous granddad, who she sweetly nicknamed “Gaga”.

KING’S FAMILY

In the adorable clip posted to his Instagram page, the TV star and Mia looked happy as ever as they played one of her favourite games.

The doting grandfather wrote in his caption: “Don’t fall down the hole. Mia loves this game with her Gaga.”

Martin sat Mia on his lap in the video and went through the “rules of the game” with her.

The 61-year-old said: “Rule number one, you have to give Gaga a…”

Mia cutely finished off his sentence as she exclaimed: “A hug!”
