Now former Rangers star Jason Cummings and Greg Stewart can celebrate their league triumph in style in India.

And it’s becoming a yearly celebration for Mohun Bagan Super Giant as they made it two-in-a-row under manager Jose Molina.

Stewart, 34, got on the score-sheet in last night’s clash against closest rivals FC Goa who finished 10 points clear in second place.

The title was out of Goa’s reach before Saturday’s clash but Mohun Bagan’s win put them eight points clear at the top by close of play.

Cummings came off the bench in the second half and assisted Stewart for his goal in stoppage time after Goa’s Boris Singh Thangjam gifted the hosts the lead by putting the ball into his own net in the 62nd minute.

With 56 points picked up throughout the campaign, Mohun Bagan have registered the most in a single season in the competition‘s history.

They also recorded the most wins in the Indian Super League with 17 victories and went on a record-breaking unbeaten home run of 12 games.

It’s fair to say it’s a season that will be talked about for years to come.

And the former Ibrox pair will no doubt be soaking up the occasion and enjoying every minute before taking a well-earned break.

Cummings, 29, is making a habit of being part of title-winning teams in his career.

He’s now won FIVE leagues to date after clinching the Scottish Championship with Hibs, EFL League One with Luton and the A-League Championship with Central Coast Mariners.

Cummings also helped Dundee win promotion to the Scottish Premiership via the play-offs in the 2020/21 season.

It’s Stewart’s third league title with THREE different clubs after lifting the trophy with Jamshedpur and Mumbai City.

The former Rangers stars aren’t the only ex-SPFL players to be involved in this particular title win as well.

Former Motherwell and Inverness Caley Thistle defender Tom Aldred played a key role in the team’s triumph alongside ex-Hibs attacker Jamie McLaren too.
