Ortega and Carpenter appeared alongside Rohan Campbell in the music video for Taste. The video was inspired by the Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn starrer 1992 film, Death Becomes Her. Fans speculated a romance between Mendes and Carpenter when they were spotted on a date together (via X).

Sabrina Carpenter released the song opposite as part of her Emails I Can’t Send album’s Deluxe edition. Fans believed that the song’s lyrics could hint at her break up with Mendes after he got back together with Cabello.
