If 50% of Senchi consensus in 2014 was implemented Ghana won’t be where it is – Kofi Asare

The Executive Director of Eduwatch, Kofi Asare, has noticed that Ghana’s economic challenges are a result of a lack of political will rather than a lack of ideas.

He reached this conclusion after comparing the 2014 Senchi Consensus alongside the 2025 NED Communique.

To him, if the governments in 2014 had implemented even 50% of the ideas derived from the Senchi consensus, Ghana would not be where it is today.

He mentions that the country’s problems are not new and so what’s needed is just 10% of new solutions and 90% political will.

Making his case in a post shared via social media, he said “I have been reading the 2014 Senchi Consensus alongside the 2025 NED Communique. If we implemented 50% of Senchi, we wouldn’t be here after 11 years. Our problems are not new; what we need is just 10% of new solutions and 90% political will”.

The Government last week organized a National Economic Dialogue to glean information from experts on how to ensure that the country’s economy is in good shape.

The Dialogue brought together captains of industry, citizens, academics, among other,s who provided the government with ideas just like they did in 2014 during the Senchi consensus.
