The entrant numbers have dropped into single figure territory since the tournament took off way back in August with the qualifiers.

And that means we’re now at the business end of the competition.

From 130 teams involved the last eight are becoming the final four and taking a place in the hat for semi-final weekend in April.

Among them could be some history.

Livingston have never won the Scottish Cup, while Aberdeen have had a fairly long wait of 35 years too.

St Johnstone and Hearts have both won the trophy this century and holders Celtic are still aiming to defend their trophy.

The Jambos were first to book a place in Mount Florida next month with a 3-1 win over Dundee at Tynecastle on Friday night.

Aberdeen shrugged off the challenge of Queen’s Park in straightforward manner with a 4-1 win over the Spiders at Pittodrie on Saturday afternoon.

And Celtic were the third team to progress after beating Hibs 2-0 at Parkhead on Sunday.
