The defending champion is none other than Luke Littler, who narrowly beat Rob Cross in the 2024 final by a score of 8-7.

He hit an epic NINE-DARTER in that final last year, after his infamous clash with Ricardo Pietreczko at the same tournament.

Littler could be set to add another windfall to his already eye-watering career earnings.

The 2025 edition of the tournament will feature a controversial new format, with the top 16 ‘Order of Merit’ players qualifying automatically.

They will enter the competition in the second round, randomly drawn against 16 unseeded qualifiers.

Pre-qualified players from the Orders of Merit will not earn prize money should they lose their first-round match.
