But a simple change made the space look much cosier[/caption]
Steph Harris took to social media to show off her simple and effective bathroom makeover.
The DIY whizz wrote: “Little en-suite makeover. Last picture is what it looked like yesterday morning.
“Love this colour!”
Posting on DIY On A Budget, a private Facebook group with 2.2 million members, Steph shared before and after snaps of the en-suite.
Instead of splashing out hundreds on a bathroom renovation, she gave it a freshen-up with a lick of paint.
Prior to the makeover, the walls had marble tiling on the bottom and white paint on the top half.
She made it look so much warmer and cosier using a Dulux paint in the shade Soft Truffle which costs just £15 a pot from Wickes.
The savvy woman left the flooring as is as well as the tiling on the walls.
She added some extra furniture from the high street, including a mirror from Matalan and a toilet paper stand from Very.
Not only did Steph save hundreds doing the renovation herself, we think it looks amazing too.
People who saw the post gushed at what a great job she did.
One person wrote: “Much better.”
Another commented: “That’s lovely.”
“Nice colour,” penned a third.
