Earlier last year, Tommy and his mum Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) were at the centre of an abuse storyline with Tommy being abusive to his mother and siblings.
After a heartbroken Kat kept her torment of her son’s violence a secret, Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) was worried about the safety of Tommy’s younger twin brothers.
Jean contacted social services in secret and Kat was furious to find out her family had betrayed her.
Kat was further devastated when she was told Tommy would be placed in social care, but neighbour Zack offered to take him in.
Zack was already an approved foster parent so social work agreed that he could stay there with him.
However, this week, Kat and her partner Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) are delighted when their social worker tells them their son can finally move back home.
However, for Kat, her happiness soon turns to concern, when Tommy has another outburst over being unable to get online.
A comment from Mo then gives her pause for thought.
And later, Alfie convinces Kat to open up to Tommy, and Kat invites her son to the café for a chat.
Kat shares her concerns with Tommy and the pair attempt to put aside their differences.
But later in the week, Kat panics when she returns from work to find Mo has left Tommy alone with the twins.
After seeing his mother’s lack of trust in him, Tommy completely shuts down.
Kat apologises to Tommy, and gives him a new games console which he eagerly boots up so he can chat to his new online friend.
But later Kat’s concerns are raised over Tommy’s mysterious friend.
So, worried about what is going on, she attempts to secretly read the pair’s messages.
Alfie implores Kat to speak to Tommy who eventually reveals all.
Lily meets with Tommy at Arthur’s Bench and opens up to him about her feelings of loneliness.
Believing it can help her, Tommy invites her back to No. 5D
Later, Kat struggles to get to grips with Tommy’s admission while Alfie keeps an open mind.
Avani overhears their conversation, and Nugget and Denzel use the information to their advantage to taunt him Tommy in McKlunky’s.
