A DIE-HARD Oasis fan who couldn’t get a ticket to the historic reunion tour has claimed he managed to get in using an ingenious plan.

The Britpop icons took to the stage in their hometown Manchester for the first time in 16 years on Friday night as an 80,000-strong crowd roared on.

There were countless fans who were unable to grab tickets for the sold-out event with many throwing their own party behind the venue and others trying to sneak in.

On Friday, a number of fans – reportedly as many as 50 – were seen armed with a ladder as they tried to scale a fence into the gig.

And then, on Saturday night, fans could be seen storming the fences at Heaton Park in droves as the Gallagher brothers took to the stage shortly after 8pm.

But one Oasis fan who couldn’t get a ticket for the comeback concerts simply posed as a litter picker to walk straight up to the front – and he claims it worked.

John Spilsbury allegedly wore a yellow hi-vis vest and carried a litter picker and a bin bag before walking up to the gates at Manchester’s Heaton Park.

He claims that not only was he waved through, but that he was also able to get to the front standing section a few hours before Liam and Noel Gallagher and the rest of the band came on.

He said he did a “30 minute shift” of litter picking before he removed his disguise to enjoy the show when it started.

John revealed his stunt on social media and posted photos of him as a ‘litter picker’ and of him rocking away.

John, who comes from Alfreton, Cheshire, posted: “No Ticket No Problem.

“When you can’t get a ticket for Oasis so take a hi viz and grabber and pretend to be a litter picker then walk straight into front standing.”

Rather than come in for criticism, people were quick to praise John online, calling him a ‘legend and a genius’.

Others jokingly remarked how there will be ‘6,000 litter pickers’ turning up at the next Oasis concert while Wembley stadium will be ‘spotless’.

Manchester City Council, who own and manage Heaton Park, have been contacted for comment.

Three further gigs are set to take place at Heaton Park this week – on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday – before Oasis travel to London to perform for five nights at Wembley Stadium.
