Takealot to introduce more pickup points around South Africa

Takealot is doubling down on convenience this year, with the addition of more delivery pickup points around the country.

As reported by BusinessTech, the online retailer announced it will roll out more Pick n Pay delivery pickup points, aiming to reach 36 locations by the end of 2025.

Takealot has already grown its network to 30 Pick n Pay pickup points nationwide.

According to the company, the service has taken off since it was trialled at the supermarket back in 2023.

The pickup service lets customers collect their online orders while doing their grocery shopping, with no more waiting around at home or chasing down delivery vans.

Between February and May 2025, Takealot saw collections at Pick n Pay locations double. The pickup points now handle over 14 000 parcels a month and serve more than 45 000 unique customers.

Each pickup point is conveniently positioned near the customer service kiosk inside select Pick n Pay stores. Customers choose a participating location at checkout, wait for a pickup notification, and collect during normal store hours.

The online retailer will add six more points before the end of the year.
