Brother Freddy needs to grow up… there are things I don’t like about him, says Bobby Brazier as he discusses family feud

EASTENDERS star Bobby Brazier has admitted his younger brother Freddy needs to grow up — but says he’s a “good boy.”

The actor, 22, who is leaving the soap, spoke publicly for the first time about the 20-year-old — who is at the centre of an impending family legal fight over his welfare.

He said: “Freddy’s very sensitive and wants to please. And when he grows up a little bit that will serve him well.

“There are things I don’t like about him and there are things about me he doesn’t like. Freddy will be OK, I don’t know if he looks up to me, but I look up to him in many ways, but he’s a good boy.”

It comes after the Sun on Sunday revealed the brothers’ TV host dad Jeff, 46, has a court date in his bid to stop Freddy seeing maternal gran Jackiey Budden, 68 — mother of late Big Brother star Jade Goody — amid concerns over his well-being.

Freddy teamed up with his dad last month to present This Morning’s competition segment from Malta. The pair previously competed in BBC One’s Celebrity Race Across the World last year

Meanwhile, Bobby is to leave EastEnders in September.

He said: “It’s mixed feelings, it’s been a wonderful three years and I’ve learned so much, so it feels like home. It’s like a family there.”

Last month, we revealed he had received a wave of work offers after being a runner-up on Strictly Come Dancing in 2023.

It led to him winning Best Supporting Actor in a TV Series for his role in Paramount+ drama Curfew, at the National Film Awards in West London on July 3.

Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, Bobby said he now has his sights on Hollywood.

He said: “I’d like be around people who’ve mastered what they do and absorb as much of that as I can. I’d love to work with Joaquin Phoenix, I think he’s incredible. Even to watch him on set would be amazing.”
