In Mount Dillon, Co Roscommon temperatures reached a boiling 30.7C at 3:30pm today.
Gardai have confirmed that the car parks at Warren Beach near Rosscarbery and Inchydoney Beach near Clonakilty in West Cork are overcrowded.
And they stated there is no further safe access available to either location this afternoon due to the volume of visitors.
People planning a trip are now being encouraged to visit one of the many other beaches along the Cork coastline instead of adding to congestion.
Authorities warned that it is important to park legally and responsibly, especially during busy spells of warm weather.
Gardai have taken to Facebook to share the warning.
They said: “Gardai in West Cork would like to advise members of the public that the car parks at Warren Beach near Rosscarbery and Inchydoney Beach near Clonakilty are now full and there is no further safe access available.
“Please consider one of the other many stretches of golden sand we have along the Costa del Cork this afternoon.”
Drivers are reminded that emergency routes must be kept clear so that ambulances and other emergency services can respond if needed.
Gardaí also warned that disabled parking spaces should never be used without a valid permit, regardless of how crowded an area becomes.
And they said that illegal parking creates risks for pedestrians and delays for emergency responders.
ANOTHER BEACH WARNING
Meanwhile, Gardaí in Malahide Co Dublin have issued a warning on social media about parking at Portmarnock Beach.
Officers confirmed that the car park on the Golf Links Road is now completely full.
They are urging drivers not to leave vehicles along the road as this will block access for emergency services.
Those planning to visit the area are being encouraged to consider alternative beaches or travel at quieter times.
Authorities have also reminded the public that illegal parking can delay first responders in the event of an emergency.
They said: “Malahide Gardai are advising all those heading to the beach that Portmarnock beach on the golf links road car park is full.
“Drivers are urged not to park on the road as it will obstruct emergency vehicle access.”
The public is advised to stay hydrated and bring enough water when heading out to the coast for the day.
Officials are also urging to beachgoers to apply plenty of sun cream to avoid sunburn and heat-related illness as temperatures rise this weekend.
They added: “Always remember to park legally at popular amenities and beaches – you must leave emergency access and don’t occupy a disabled parking bay without a permit.
“Stay safe, stay hydrated and wear plenty of sun cream!”
