Man Utd ‘name price’ for Andre Onana with Red Devils set to take huge loss on blunder-prone keeper

MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly ready to cut their losses on Andre Onana – just two years after signing him.

The Red Devils have allegedly slapped a price tag on the under-fire keeper.

Signed from Inter Milan for around £47million in 2023 to replace David De Gea, the Cameroon international arrived with big expectations.

Onana has shown flashes of brilliance, but those have been outweighed by costly errors.

Now, with Ineos looking to reshape their squad this summer, United are open to offers and could accept a figure as low as £30million.

The Daily Mail report that was the price quoted to Monaco when the French side enquired about signing Onana.

That would represent a hefty financial hit for Manchester United.

Despite the significant drop in his valuation compared to 24 months ago, the report adds that Monaco still consider it too much.

Saudi side SC Neom have also been linked with a move.

The Cameroon international returned to Manchester United training yesterday and looks more likely to remain at the club than leave this summer.

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has said that he is ‘happy’ with the former Inter Milan keeper.

However, SunSport revealed recently that the Red Devils boss could be open to sending Onana out on loan.

The goalkeeper’s wages are so high, that as well as the fee, his personal demands are also proving off-putting.

Manchester United would prefer a European club to come in rather than a Premier League rival.

Onana, whose deal runs until 2028, counts 24 clean sheets and has conceded 148 goals during his two-year spell in Manchester.

SunSport understands Botafogo’s John Victor is an option to replace Onana after catching the eye at the Fifa Club World Cup.

World Cup winner Emi Martinez is also keen on a move to Old Trafford.
