Heartbreaking tributes pour for ‘beautiful’ mum who ‘always went above & beyond’ after tragic death in freak accident

HEARTBREAKING tributes have been paid to a “kind lady with a big heart” who passed away last week after her tragic accident.

Denise Morey of Kilmore Road, Knocknaheeney in Cork, parked her car on Pophams Road, but the vehicle tragically knocked her down, causing multiple life-threatening injuries on June 23.

The mum-of-two has passed away “peacefully” on July 4 in the ICU Ward at Cork University Hospital.

She was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her passing.

An investigation into the incident is underway.

She is survived by her husband Billy, her daughter Samantha and her adored grandchildren Nicole, Reece, Zach and Jake.

The tragic mother is predeceased by her son Bernard.

Her family wrote: “Sadly missed by her loving husband, family, brothers, sisters, relatives, neighbours and a close circle of friends.”

Denise will repose at Coughlan’s Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10am, family in attendance at 4pm with prayers at 5pm.

The Requiem Mass will occur on Wednesday at 11am in St Mary’s on the Hill Church.

Burial will follow afterwards at St Catherine’s Cemetery.

Her death has sent shockwaves through the local community, with family, friends and loved ones paying tribute to Denise in heartbreaking messages.

A local shop owner wrote: “So very sorry to hear of the passing of Denise, she was a regular customer and we always had a laugh when she came in the shop. She was such a lovely person and a hard worker.

“My condolences to the Morey family on this very sad time. Rest in peace Denise.”

‘GREAT KINDNESS’

A mourner said: “My sincere condolences to all of Denise’s family and friends. Denise was an exceptional carer and showed great kindness to my Dad and our family when she cared for him.

“May she rest in peace.”

A friend added: “My deepest sympathies to Billy, Samantha and both family sides on your great loss. Denise was salt of the earth and such a lovely, lovely person. May she rest in peace.”

Another mourner wrote: “My sincere condolences to Billy, Samantha and the extended Morey & Higgins family.

“Denise was a kind lady with a big heart, may her gentle soul rest in eternal peace.”

A friend said: “Deepest condolences to Samantha, Billy, and kids. Denise was the best, always went above and beyond for everyone, especially to me. Rest in peace, Denise. Love always.”
