Now in its fourth year, the awards celebrate the vibrancy, creativity and impact of small and independent eateries in communities nationwide.
This year’s programme features a powerful new spotlight on the next generation of hospitality talent, with a dedicated award for culinary innovators under 27.
The nominees for Ireland include Lam’s, Tula Mexican Grill, Urban Health, Smokin Bones, Locke Burger, Forno 500, All Bar Chicken, Red Torch Ginger, Sambros and Hyderabadi Kitchen.
The winner will bag a €120,000 investment in their business, alongside tailored mentorship and national recognition.
In addition to the top prize, all regional finalists will receive a €6,000 grant and a bespoke support package from Uber Eats to help them scale and innovate.
Irish chef and Uber Eats Restaurant of the Year Awards judge Clodagh McKenna said: “I’m backing our amazing small restaurants this year, Ireland’s food culture is brimming with creativity and community spirit.
“I’m thrilled to be part of a celebration that champions our local heroes—from the Limerick eateries to Dublin’s urban gems.
“This is a chance to shine a light on the people behind the plates who pour their heart into everything they serve.”
New for 2025 is the Next Gen Trailblazer Award, honouring bold young chefs and restaurateurs aged 27 and under who are shaking up the food world.
The winner will scoop a €6,000 business development grant, along with strategic support from Uber Eats.
Judging the new category is Seema Pankhania, cookbook author and culinary creator behind the bestselling Craveable.
Uber Eats will honour excellence across five Trailblazer categories:
- Women in Food Award
- Climate Impact Award
- Healthy Eats Award
- Social Impact Award
- Next Gen Award
Last year’s winner, Natty’s Jerk in Portsmouth, has seen explosive growth following their win.
Natty Crutchfield said: “Winning Restaurant of the Year was life-changing.
“We’ve grown faster than we ever imagined, and we’re proud to be part of a community that supports independent businesses.”
General Manager of Uber Eats UK, Ireland and Northern Europe, Matthew Price, said: “We’re proud to be championing the future of food with these awards.
“By recognising the talent of tomorrow alongside today’s best independent restaurants, we’re helping shape a food scene that’s inclusive, innovative and impactful.”
Uber Eats bosses said over 60 per cent of their restaurant partners are small or medium-sized businesses.
The winners will be crowned at a star-studded ceremony in London at Here @ Outernet in late 2025.
Uber Eats is calling on the public to nominate their favourite local restaurants in Ireland and the UK from July 2 at ubereatsawards.com.
Nominations close on August 1, and with over 130 restaurants expected to compete, it’s set to be the biggest and most diverse edition yet.
