WWE Star Said “I hate this job” After Getting Hit by Dave Bautista’s Power Move

Before he became a busy movie star, Dave Bautista used to bring all the championship titles home as a WWE wrestler. Between signing on to former WWF in 1999 and retiring at WrestleMania 35 in 2019, he won two WWE Championships and four World Heavyweight Championships. He also headlined two WrestleMania events.

With the ring name Batista, the Glass Onion actor proved to be a beast in the ring and his signature move was known as the Batista bomb. One fellow wrestler, who went against Batista several times in the ring, explained why his power move was one of the best in the WWE.

Three-time WWE Hardcore Champion Maven Huffman, known by his first name in the ring, has vast experience in the ring. Debuting around the time that Dave Bautista did in 2001, Maven fought against the Dune actor several times. He is currently a YouTuber and puts out content as an insider from the industry.

In one of his YouTube videos titled “Which WWE Finishers are the Most Painful?”, Maven ranked some of his fellow wrestlers’ finishing moves. His ranking tier ranged from “Barely feel it” at the bottom to “I hate this job” at the top, depending on how he received it in the ring.

When it came to Batista, he ranked his power move, the ‘Batista Bomb’, as a top-tier finishing move. Maven shared that it was the perfect move for Batista as it matched his aggression and his physique. He shared that the Batista Bomb move looked as devastating as the Guardians of the Galaxy actor himself. Maven shared in his video:

The Batista bomb was perfect for Dave. Why? Because it truly showed his aggression. It was one of those moves and as a power wrestler, Dave came in with one of the best physiques in the business. And when you have a physique that looks so devastating, you want a move that looks equally as devastating. The Batista bomb did just that.

Maven recalled a WWE Raw match between him and Batista when LeBron James was in attendance. He shared that the Batista Bomb was a painful experience for him that night. He shared:

I’m assuming Dave was amped up and Dave was excited. But when he delivered me to the mat it was definitely one of those moves I felt in general. This was a move I took many times from him and he always delivered me safe. But again when you’re dealing with gravity and then on top of that, the force from an extremely strong guy.

Besides Batista’s finishing move, the only other one to be ranked in the “I Hate this Job” category was the Frog Splash. The move included an aerial dive from the top rung onto a fallen opponent. It was a power move used by many famous wrestlers in the game.

Maven wasn’t the most WWE wrestler which made some of his wins shocking for fans. In the 2002 Royal Rumble, he eliminated The Undertaker in one of the most infamous upsets in WWE history. However, when asked about his most underappreciated match, Maven did not choose this moment against The Undertaker.

He shared with WrestleZone that he had a couple of really great matches against Randy Orton. But he was most proud of having a pinfall victory against Dave Bautista. He shared that not many people could boast about a pinfall victory against The Animal. Maven shared:

There’s a couple matches I had with Orton. I thought Orton and I always wrestled [well] together. And then obviously I have a pinfall victory against Dave Bautista. Yeah, I wish people would bring that up more. That was the night that the inmates were running the asylum and I slapped Batista backstage, and then we took it out to the ring. Yeah, not many people can say they have a pinfall victory against The Animal.

Besides opening up about his WWE experiences, Maven has also shared vulnerable personal details during his stint at the company on his YouTube channel. He has been open about his use of anabolic steroids during his time at the WWE.
