The mum-of-two, who has a daughter Samanta and a son Bernard who predeceased her, is survived by her husband Billy.

She was a popular and well liked lady with many friends and neighbours who will sadly miss her.

It’s understood the handbrake may have slipped after she parked and the car moved the steep hill when Denise was behind it.

She was rushed to Cork University Hospital and immediately treated for her injuries before being transferred to the Intensive Care Unit where sadly she passed away on Friday last.

In tributes on RIP.ie remembered Denise as “a woman with a smile and advice” a beautiful person”, “salt of the earth” and someone with “a big heart”, who “was always laughing and joking, a very happy person”.

Denise will repost Coughlan’s Funeral Home, Shandon Street next Tuesday July 8 from 10am with the family in attendance at 4pm and prayers an hour later.

Her Requiem Mass is on Wednesday at 11am in St Mary’s on the Hill Church in Knocknaheeney and burial after wards to St Catherine’s Cemetery, Kilcully.
