3 Hits of Alexandra Daddario to Prove She is Not a “Bad Actor” and 3 That Derailed Her Career

Alexandra Daddario has been a part of the film industry for many years now. While many have heard of her after she starred in Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, she has been in several notable works since then.

While some of her works have done quite well in the eyes of the public, some have been outright horrendous for her career, causing her to gain somewhat of a reputation as a bad actress. Recently, Daddario spoke about this and addressed the rumors about her being untalented, calling them outrageous and bringing up her Emmy nomination.

On this note, here are three of her films that she should not have starred in and three that help showcase her talent.

Good: The White Lotus

One cannot praise Alexandra Daddario’s talents as an actress without talking about The White Lotus. Starring as Rachel Patton in the second season of the series, her character’s role in the overall story worked extremely well with the entire theme of the satire. So much so, that she was even nominated for her first Emmy for the series.

In her interview with Elle, this series is exactly what Daddario used to showcase why she was not a bad actress, and rightfully so. With a 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the series is certainly the next example of her talents as an actress.

Bad: Baywatch

Baywatch could have been the perfect film to boost Daddario’s career. It was a new take on a classic film, with a star-studded cast and a well-known director. However, it ended up being quite a big mishap in her career. The film was a box-office bomb, with little to no interest from its audiences, who called it predictable and even a waste of time.

The critics weren’t impressed either, with it having an 18% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Considering the failure of this film, one can imagine that it hurt the careers of everyone in it, including Daddario.

Good: We Summon the Darkness

We Summon the Darkness is one of the lesser-appreciated works from Daddario’s filmography. A light-hearted comedy with serious horror elements, the film worked well for many reasons. Satanists going on a killing spree in the 80s, the film brings a refreshing story with morbid comedy, which catered well to a specific audience.

Daddario is front and center in the project and carries that role well, showcasing the extent of her talent.

Bad: Night Hunter

A film starring Henry Cavill and Alexandra Daddario sounds excellent in theory. However, this project easily became one of the most regrettable works in both of their careers. There is no denying that it puts a bad case for the actress, as many have called the film bad because of the unconvincing performances.

With a rating of 14% on Rotten Tomatoes, one can imagine that Daddario’s career would have fared better had she not starred in the film.

Good: We Have Always Lived in the Castle

Starring alongside Sebastian Stan, Daddario’s We Have Always Lived in the Castle is an excellent film in so many ways. Being an adaptation of Shirley Jackson’s work, who is also known for writing the book Haunting of Hill House, the film fleshes out its characters in the most engaging ways possible.

With both Stan and Daddario giving their all in the film, it is fully deserving of its 84% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Bad: Texas Chainsaw

Being a disappointing sequel to the horror classic, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Texas Chainsaw has been widely regarded as one of the worst horror movie sequels. Having stale scares and critics not thinking much better of it either, the film has a rating of 20% on Rotten Tomatoes and deserves it.

While audiences argued that Alexandra Daddario’s performance in the film was quite good, it was not enough to save her from the impact this project would have on her career.
