Kaizer Chiefs FINALLY announce ex-Orlando Pirates duo!

In a week where they have already announced three signings, Kaizer Chiefs have gone on to announce two more.

Chiefs have further bolstered their squad with the acquisitions of former Orlando Pirates duo Thabiso Monyane and Paseka Mako.

Chiefs confirm signings of Monyane and Mako

The signings of Monyane and Mako, add to the three of Nkanyiso Shinga, Flavio Silva and Ethan Chislett. Chiefs took to their official X account to welcome the now ex-Pirates duo to Naturena.

“Kaizer Chiefs are delighted to announce the signings of Thabiso Monyane and Paseka Mako as their two new acquisitions after announcing three other players earlier this week. Previously with Orlando Pirates, the pair bring valuable experience to Naturena, having won trophies and participated in the CAF Champions League in recent seasons. Mako, born in Zebediela, Limpopo, plays as a left wingback, while Monyane operates as a right back in the defensive line. The duo will reinforce Amakhosi’s rear guard with their versatility and work rate. The team will travel to the Netherlands tonight for a pre-season training camp.” Wrote a statement on the club’s website

Contracts signed early last month

The duo were among the first players to reportedly sign for Chiefs in early June, upon their release from Pirates. However, Monyane and Mako were left out of the first batch of signings announced earlier in the week. Now as the team prepare to step up their pre-season in the Netherlands, the duo will be hoping to impress.

Chiefs confirmed that Monyane will wear jersey number two, while Mako will don the number 29. Those are also the same numbers that they wore during their time at Pirates. They are expected to compete against Reeve Frosler, Dillan Solomons as well as Shinga, and Bradley Cross respectively.
