GARDAI are investigating “all circumstances” following the discovery of a body in Co Cork over the weekend.
The grim find was made at Ballymaquirk in Mallow, Co Cork on Saturday evening.
It is understood that foul play is not suspected.
Gardai said they are particularly looking to find out more information on a man who was walking in the area the evening before the body was discovered.
He was walking on the road between Banteer and Kanturk between the hours of 3:30pm and 9pm on Friday evening.
Anyone who may have seen this man has been asked to come forward.
However, investigating officers said the are seeking information from anyone who may be able to assist in the investigation.
A garda spokesperson said: “Gardai are investigating all the circumstances in relation to the discovery of a body at Ballymaquirk, Mallow, Co. Cork on the evening of Saturday 28th June, 2025.
“Gardai are appealing for anyone with information relating to this incident to come forward.
“In particular, Gardai are appealing for witnesses in relation to a male walking on the road between Banteer and Kanturk, Co Cork, on the evening of Friday June 13th 2025 between the hours of 3.30pm and 9:00pm.”
Any road users who may have been travelling in this vicinity at the time have been asked to come forward.
