DERRY CITY boss Tiernan Lynch has warned his players that their places are under threat following the arrival of Alex Bannon.
The Scottish defender has joined on a year-long loan from Burton Albion with Lynch highlighting his versatility.

Lynch said: “He’s a young lad with plenty of senior experience under his belt.
“He can play in a number of different positions – he can play right side centre half, right wing back, right back or even as a six.
“And he’s someone we are looking forward to getting in and working with.
“He’s a very versatile lad and the big attraction to us is the number of senior games.
“He is someone that we definitely feel that can come in and make an impact.
“No one should be safe and everyone should know that when they come in on the Monday morning they have a fight on their hands”
Bannon, 21, clocked up 59 appearances for Queen’s Park before being signed by Burton last summer
He clocked up nine consecutive starts in League One in October and November but, when he fell down the pecking order, he joined Airdrieonians in January.
There he played alongside Adam Frizzell, who has also joined the Candystripes, and played 16 times as the club secured its Championship status in the play-offs.
