‘From playing on FIFA using Kaizer Chiefs to signing for them’

Kaizer Chiefs have announced the signings of three new players ahead of their trip to the Netherlands this week.

Chiefs are looking to leave no stone unturned as they look to improve their fortunes from the previous two seasons.

The last two campaigns have seen Chiefs finish outside the top eight and subsequently miss out on the MTN8. But because of their 2-1 victory in the final to clinch the Nedbank Cup, they’ll be back on the continent. This in the form of the CAF Confederation Cup, which will be their first foray in Africa since 2021. Now in ensuring that they have enough firepower, Amakhosi have already announced three new signings.

Chiefs announce three new signings

On Tuesday Chiefs confirmed the three acquisitions of Nkanyiso Shinga, Flavio Silva and Ethan Chislett. All three players being formerly overseas-based players prior to joining Amakhosi. The latter on the list, an attacking midfielder had quite a few options to stay abroad, including English League One side Wigan and Scottish Premier League side Motherwell.

Now after the announcement was made, Ethan’s brother Zack Chislett revealed how meaningful the Chiefs move is.

“From playing with @kcfcofficial (Kaizer Chiefs) on fifa, to actually signing for them 😍 @ethanchislettt.  3rd generation of Chislett to play in the 🇿🇦 top flight.  We’re coming for everything ✌🏼”. He wrote on his official instagram

Chiefs themselves wrote the following while announcing Chislett.

Chislett one of them

“In midfield, Amakhosi have enlisted 26-year-old Ethan Chislett, an attacking midfielder known for his creative abilities. The Durban-born playmaker joins the Club after spending most of his playing career in England, as well as a stint in Spain. He recently enjoyed a successful season with Port Vale, where he provided key assists and created numerous scoring opportunities.” Chiefs wrote on their website.
