Kaizer Chiefs have announced what seems to be the first batch of signings ahead of the new signings
Chiefs are looking to have a better season than their last and are attacking the market like that is the case!
If reports are to be believed, Chiefs have already signed at least eight players, with increasing links on others. Orlando Pirates duo Paseka Mako and Thabiso Monyane are believed to be their earliest signings. The two defenders will join on a free transfer. There are also rumours that Mamelodi Sundowns striker Etiosa Ighodaro and Cape Town Spurs’ Asanele Velebayi are Khosified.
Chiefs announced THREE new signings
The latest out of those players to sign is Durban-born playmaker Ethan Chislett. This publication reported that the former Port Vale star turned down Motherwell from Scotland and Wigan of England for Chiefs. It is also understood that he has signed a two-year deal with an option for a third. Fellow overseas-based duo Nkanyiso Shinga and Flavio Silva complete the list thus far.
But was interesting to note was that Chiefs only opted to announce three of those players on Tuesday. That being the latter of Chislett, Shinga and Silva. This despite the former Pirates duo of Mako and Monyane being the first to be reported as signed. Now according to FARPost editor Mthokozisi Dube, Mako has suffered an injury even before being unveiled.
Mako already injured?
“Look, Paseka Mako as well. He has been training with the team. But yeah, it’s going to be a bit tricky for him, he needs to stay injury free. There is competition in Nkanyiso Shinga, a younger player who is 25. He needs to stay injury free to be able to compete in that position. I do know he has a slight knock but hopefully he his able to fight and prove he is still good enough. said Dube on MSW with Robert Marawa on Tuesday evening.
