MANILA, Philippines — Kanlaon Volcano on Negros Island emitted a total of 6,702 tons of sulfur dioxide over the past 24 hours, nearly triple the 2,138 tons recorded the previous day, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported on Wednesday.
