A CONTESTANT on Come Dine With Me reveals how strict show bosses censored what she wore and said on the show.
Plymouth based, support worker Lea Dobson loved her time on the cooking show but explained that lots of things were cut from episodes because they were inappropriate for daytime viewing.

Slain McGough Davey, Lea Dobson, Jazza Fandango, Katie Coates and Stephen Connolly appeared on Come Dine With Me as part of the programme’s 20th anniversary.
Lea who loved being on the reality cooking show revealed exclusively to The Sun that she didn’t realise how strict the bosses were before she took part.
Contestants can’t just wear what they want and instead have to send their planned outfits to the show producers to be approved.
“I sent them all in and then they said, right they are okay” she explained.
But then when she wore an outfit they changed their mind and said: “You can see a bit too much butt cheek.”
“I was like, there’s no way on earth I’m going home and getting changed.
“It’s not happening, like, I’ve spent time picking my outfit out and getting ready.” she explained.
She added: “So they made me carry my bag the whole way through it, like, when we were in the garden area just to make sure you couldn’t see any butt cheek or anything.”
“But I thought no way. I’m going to go and get changed and spend about another hour getting ready.”
The self confessed fitness fanatic also revealed that some of the comments she made on the show were not aired because the bosses thought them as inappropriate for daytime viewers.
She said: “They had to retake me eating one of my meals because I absolutely cannot stand fish.
“I made a comment like, oh, it smells like stinky girl’s knickers or something along those lines.
“And then when Blaine’s dessert came out, I said, oh, it looks like s***k basically.
“And they were like, yeah. you can’t say that!”
“And I was like, oh, god because I’m so unfiltered.
“I don’t think before I speak. Yeah. It kind of runs off my tongue.”
Lea added: “There was a little bit when I was eating the fish, and I was, like, gagging.”
“And I asked if I could spit it into a bit of tissue, and they were like, no. No. No. Don’t do that.”
“And I thought, oh, alright then. Spoilsports.
“I mean, I thought it was funny, but anything that could be deemed as too inappropriate, they won’t let you do it.”
Lea giggled and added: “And, the food when you’re eating it, half the time, it’s not even hot because you have to put it down in front of the people so many times because the camera men want so many different angles.”
However, the bubbly Lea concluded by saying that she’s made friends for life and that being on the show was a great experience.
“We spent so much time with each other off camera and we have become very close to each other.”
