A MAN has been rushed to hospital this evening following a serious crash between a car and motorbike in Co Cork.
The motorcyclist, aged in his 20s, was treated at the scene and taken by ambulance to Cork University Hospital after the incident on the N71 at Grillagh in Clonakilty.
A man aged in 70s, who was the driver of the car involved in the collision, was also transported to hospital for medical assessment.
Gardai and emergency services attended the scene of the serious road traffic collision this evening.
The horror road crash involving a car and a motorcycle occurred on the N71 north of Clonakilty shortly after 4:30pm.
The area where the incident took place is currently being examined by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and road has been closed.
Local diversions are currently in place but motorists have been urged to avoid the area.
Gardai are also appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Investigating officers are particularly interested in speaking to those with camera footage, including dash cams.
A garda spokesperson said: “Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
“Road users who were travelling on this stretch of the N71 around the time of the collision and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make it available to investigating Gardai.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Clonakilty Garda Station on 023 882 1570, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.”
FATAL CRASH DUBLIN
Separately, a man in his 20s has died after he was struck by a car in an early morning collision in Dublin yesterday.
The incident happened at Balbutcher Lane in Ballymun, Dublin 11 at around 4.55am on Saturday morning.
Gardai were alerted to scene involving the pedestrian and the car and the pedestrian, the man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries have been reported.
The road was closed for a technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions in place.
Gardai are now appealing for any witnesses to make contact with them, especially those with dash-cam footage.
They are particularly interested in anyone who may have been in the Balbutcher Lane and Balcurris Park areas of Ballymun, between 4am and 5am.

In a statement a garda spokesperson said: “Gardai are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision that occurred in Ballymun, Dublin 11, this morning, Saturday 28th June 2025.
“At approximately 4:55am, Gardai and emergency services were alerted to a road traffic incident involving a car and a pedestrian at Balbutcher Lane.
“The pedestrian, a man aged in his 20s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
They continued: “Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
“Any road users or pedestrians who were in the vicinity of Balbutcher Lane and Balcurris Park areas of Ballymun, between 4:00am and 5:00am, and have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
