THIS is the moment a stranger put out a “freak” fire outside a popular cafe in Co Donegal.
The Narrow Quarter Bistro & Coffeehouse nearly suffered a major fire incident at their establishment due to one of their small trees outside starting to smoke and catching fire.

Taking to social media, the cafe shared a CCTV clip showing the “freak occurrence” that happened on Thursday, where smoke started to form and drift down the street.
A brave hero was seen running towards the burning tree, trying to de-escalate the situation before it worsens.
He was spotted dragging the tree away from the car and the cafe’s entrance, where the wooden signage could easily have gone up in flames.
And the mystery stranger brought it to one of the establishments to get water to extinguish the flame.
A co-worker was also seen helping him by providing water to put out the flame.
The hero managed to prevent significant fire damage to the property and also saved the tree’s life as it was seen safe on camera.
The cause of fire remains unknown as there was no cigarette butts or potential fire hazards dumped in the tree on their camera footage.
In a post by the cafe owner, they issued a plea to the public to help identify the brave man, as they want to give him a generous gift for his actions.
They said: “A bit of a freak occurrence yesterday, one of the small trees outside started smoking and caught fire.
“Thankfully it was caught quickly before any damage was done, especially as our signage is wooden and could’ve gone up too.
“Huge thanks to the sound lad who helped drag it away and put it out…., if anyone knows who he is, maybe tag him or pass on his details to us please…
“We have something small to say thanks!”
Yesterday, the owner confirmed in the comment section that they got in contact with the gentleman’s wife.
‘SO MUCH DANGER AVERTED’
The locals and loyal customers of the cafe were left amazed by his actions and immediately rushed to the comments to praise his bravery.
One person wrote: “Fantastic, he acted so quickly and sensible. The car would have exploded as well, so much danger averted.”
Another person added: “Well done to that man!”
The third person said: “Fair play to him! Glad all is okay.”
The owner replied to the comment: “Yes indeed! It could have been way worse.”
