Weather expert Alan O’Reilly of Carlow Weather shared Sryan Bruen’s post on X revealing temperatures in Dublin had reached record nighttime highs.

Syran Bruen said: “Looks like last night was one of the warmest nights on record for Dublin.

“Dublin Apt had only a min of 18.4C from 09-09.

“If correct that’s a June record min for DA and warmest since September 2016.

“Previous record was 17.6C on 24th June 2023.”

And humid conditions will continue today and into tonight.

Met Eireann said: “Cloudy and humid in many areas at first this afternoon, with scattered patches of light rain and drizzle, along with some hill and coastal mist in southern areas.

“It’s brighter and fresher in the north and northwest, with those brighter conditions very slowly extending southwards through the afternoon and evening, with sunny spells developing, the best of these in Ulster and Connacht.

“However, the clearance won’t reach southern areas, with mostly cloudy, humid and rather misty conditions persisting in south Munster and parts of south Leinster.

“Highest temperatures of 17C to 23C in mostly light to moderate southwest to west winds, a little fresher in northwestern coastal parts.”

And tonight temperatures will still be up as high as 16C.

Met Eireann have warned southern areas will still be wet tonight with drizzle mist and fog but elsewhere will be drier.

Another “humid” day to come tomorrow with patchy drizzle will clearing by morning.

‘BRIGHTER AND FRESHER CONDITIONS’

While it will be mostly cloudy to start tomorrow, it’ll become brighter through the afternoon, with good spells of sunshine developing in many areas, especially for the evening.

There’s just a small chance in the north of a few isolated light showers.

Temperatures will reach 19C to 25C, possibly even 26C in parts.

And Met Eireann have said it will be “warmest in the east”.

And ahead of next week Met Eireann said: “Warm and humid at first next week with rain and drizzle at times.

“Brighter and fresher conditions will slowly become established through Tuesday and Wednesday.”
