What is the Eskom YES Programme?
The Youth Employment Service (YES) is a national initiative that aims to address youth unemployment in South Africa by creating work experience opportunities in both the private and public sectors. Eskom, through its Human Resources department, is offering 9 placement opportunities for qualifying youth at Majuba Power Station under this programme.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be between 18 and 34 years old
- Have a Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification and/or a post-matric certificate or programme
- Must not have worked permanently for a single employer for more than 12 months
- Must not be studying full-time during the year of employment
- Must not have previously participated in the YES programme

Key Responsibilities
Selected candidates will:
- Participate in the Eskom YES programme and be placed across different divisions at Majuba Power Station
- Gain hands-on experience in various departments under Eskom’s Human Resources and operational units
- Undergo a recruitment and selection process prior to final placement
