What was supposed to be a sweet and memorable day for a young couple turned into an unimaginable tragedy within hours.
A young Malaysian couple, married for less than a year, tragically lost their lives in a car crash just hours after capturing what would be their final Hari Raya photos together.
Their final Raya photos
23-year-old Lokman Hakim Mohd Shukri and his 24-year-old wife, Intan Suraya Zaidi, were looking forward to celebrating their first Hari Raya as a married couple.

Earlier that day, the couple visited Bromie Studio in Parit Panjang, Baling, around 11 am for a festive photoshoot in preparation for the upcoming Raya celebrations.
The studio owner and photographer, Muhammad Suhaimi Yahaya, told Harian Metro the shoot lasted around 30 minutes, during which the couple appeared to be in high spirits.
They looked so happy and excited. Their faces were glowing throughout the shoot. They laughed a lot and were really enjoying themselves.”
Suhaimi added that the photos were developed immediately and sent directly to the couple’s iPhone — a detail that made them even more thrilled.
They were excited to receive their printed Raya photos on the same day. I never imagined those would be their last.”
Tragedy on the way home
The couple had just finished their session and were believed to be heading back to their home in Kampung Kuala Teloi Batu Lima when the accident occurred at around 4.30 pm

Their Perodua Myvi reportedly lost control and veered into the opposite lane, crashing head-on with a lorry transporting stones. The impact was so severe that both were killed at the scene.
Their bodies were later sent to the Forensic Department at Sik Hospital for post-mortem.
A second shoot that became the last
Suhaimi also revealed that this wasn’t his first time photographing the couple — he had previously taken their wedding photos in June last year.

They were such a lovely couple. Always warm, always happy. I never imagined that the second time I took their photos would be the last.”
The couple’s love and joy were captured in their final photos, a lasting memory for their grieving families.
