Whenever we buy food or beverages from a stall, we would often make the purchase trusting that what we get is exactly what we paid for.
However, there would be times where vendors would cut corners in order to make a quick buck, just like how this man found out through his doughnut purchase.
Bought 2 doughnuts for RM5, but reality shows otherwise
In a 34-second TikTok clip shared by a man named Hakim, he expressed his surprise over how he was ‘cheated’ over some doughnuts he had bought at a Ramadan bazaar.
In the clip, he showed a plastic container with two pieces of chocolate-coated doughnuts sprinkled with some chocolate rice inside, which he paid RM5 for.

Things then took a rather drastic turn when Hakim found out how the doughnuts really looked like, where he took a piece and flipped it over to show that it was actually a single doughnut being cut into half to make it look like it was two pieces.
To put it into further perspective, he paid RM2.50 for half a doughnut — an amount most would consider ludicrous.

Even Hakim himself was taken aback by the doughnuts and asked viewers whether it was normal for vendors to do so.
“Just wanted to ask, I haven’t bought donuts at the bazaar in a long time. Are doughnuts really like this nowadays?
This is one doughnut, but the seller cuts it in half to make two. Is this how modern-era doughnuts are like now?”
Netizens appalled
The clip has since garnered close to 170,000 views at the time of writing and netizens were disgusted by the vendor’s dishonesty.
‘Not trying to insult anyone here, but how can you live comfortably if you run a business by taking advantage of customers?’

‘OMGGGGG what’s wrong with vendors nowadays? Later they complain about their business doing poorly.’

Meanwhile, one suggested that Hakim return to the stall and ask the vendor whether he had bought a doughnut or bagel.
