A FAN favourite RTE star looks completely unrecognisable in a “brilliant” throwback snap – but can you guess who it is?
The former rugby star sent fans into a frenzy after his famous friend posted an old photo for his birthday.
Fans did a double take when they saw the old picture of the Irish sports star as a teenager.
They couldn’t believe it was Ireland‘s Fittest Family star Donncha O’Callghan, 46, looking much younger in a Nike rugby jersey.
The fresh-faced youngster had short hair and posed outside on a bright green pitch.
Donncha wore a cheeky smile on his face as he stared up into the camera.
The popular presenter spent the first half of his career as a professional rugby union player and was even part of the Irish team who won The Six Nations grand slam in 2009.
Donncha was part of the Irish squad which included Brian O’Driscoll, Tommy Bowe, Johnny Sexton and Gordon D’Arcy.
Throughout his sporting career, O’Callaghan played primarily as a lock, though he occasionally provided cover at blindside flanker.
O’Callaghan was also part of the Munster rugby team that won the Heineken Cup three years in a row from 2005 to 2008.
The dad-of-five retired from rugby in April of 2018 before becoming a host on the 2FM breakfast show with Doireann Garrihy and Carl Mullan in 2021.
The author now records a podcast with former teammate Tommy Bowe titled the Offload.
As he celebrated his 46th birthday today, Tommy shared the throwback photo to pay tribute to his pal.
He wrote: “Happy birthday to the man himself – @donnchaocallaghan
“Have a good one fella!”
And fans all raced to the comment section to react to the photo of younger Donncha.
