The team-up mechanic in Marvel Rivals is one of the most creative things we’ve seen in a hero shooter in a long time. The different team-ups in the game are extremely creative and really add another layer to the typical hero shooter formula that we know. And one of these team-ups is especially chaotic.

The Ammo Overload team-up with Rocket Raccoon, The Punisher, and Winter Soldier is one that turns a teamfight into an unlimited storm of bullets. It’s really one of the more busted things we’ve seen in the game with Rocket giving the two DPSes unlimited ammo and increased fire rate on top of the revive and healing.
This team-up in Marvel Rivals is probably the most based
The Ammo Overload Team-Up is simple but really effective. Rocket Raccoon deploys an Ammo Overload Device which creates a 10-meter circle zone in which The Punisher and Winter Soldier gain infinite ammunition and increased firing speed. Pair that with a good Vanguard and you’ll be unstoppable.

On top of this, The Punisher’s rifle and shotgun get a 67% boost in fire rate, while Winter Soldier’s primary fire gains a 25% fire rate increase. These buffs last for 12 seconds, and the device has a 40-second cooldown. So it’s not all-powerful, but when you use it right, it can lock down an area for a long time.
There’s something undeniably satisfying about watching two of Marvel’s most ruthless men go to town with unlimited firepower. In Marvel Rivals, most fights are about managing cooldowns and abilities, but this team-up throws all that out of the way. It’s like the scenes we see in movies where enemy characters seem to have unlimited ammo compared to the protagonist.
A raccoon bringing two firepower fueled men together is peak

At first glance, Rocket Raccoon might seem like the odd one out in this trio, but he’s the glue holding it together. Without him, Winter Soldier and The Punisher are still great, but they lose that special sauce you know? Rocket’s ability to deploy the unlimited ammo beacon at key moments makes him invaluable. If you want to learn him, check out our guide!

What really makes Ammo Overload special is how it fits within Marvel Rivals’ teamwork mechanics. Unlike some Team-Up abilities that are passive stat boosts, this one actively encourages coordination. The Punisher and Winter Soldier players on your team will need to play according to the pace you set, and vice versa.
We’ve seen a lot of Marvel Rivals community members placing this team-up high up on the tier list. It rivals the other team-ups like the Adam Warlock, Star-Lord, and Mantis trio and the Luna Snow, Jeff the Land Shark, and Namor trio and contests for the top spot.
With this team-up Rocket becomes the ultimate “ammo dealer,” and turns the two shooters into unstoppable forces. And we love it. Have you tried out this chaotic team up yet in Marvel Rivals? Which one is your favorite? Let us know in the comments!
