The show stars (and was co-written by) the British character actor Stephen Graham as a passion project, addressing a disturbing phenomenon that is rarely discussed in mainstream entertainment. Adolescence explores the frightening world of incel culture and how quickly young boys can be swept up in it. The misogynist subculture aims to influence boys’ thought processes and attitudes towards women, and Stephen Graham gives one of his best TV show performances as a bewildered father coming to terms with his son’s hate crime.
