During the recent break of domestic club fixtures, Gers blasted a section of supporters in a hard-hitting statement after they were threatened with a partial stadium closure by Uefa for a ‘racist and/or discriminatory’ unveiled at Ibrox in the Europa League.

A banner with the message “keep woke foreign ideologies out – defend Europe was unveiled during the second leg clash with Fenerbahce this month.

Gers were hit in the pocket over the display too, with Uefa fining the club £25,000.

The Light Blues have been continuously trying to crack down on incidents both home and away which could result in costly sanctions.

And the club have today released another statement urging fans to support the team in the “correct manner” at Dens Park tomorrow.

In a travel information statement on the club website, they said: “The use of pyrotechnics, the throwing of objects, illegal singing and the displaying of discriminatory messages will only continue to damage the reputation of the club.

“Rangers will play its part by dealing with those responsible in a strong and appropriate manner.

“However, the club also calls on all fair-minded supporters to stand up for what is right and reject any unacceptable behaviour.

“Supporters are also reminded face coverings are prohibited under ground regulations.

“Rangers has been sanctioned by both the SPFL and UEFA for unacceptable supporter behaviour this season, and the consequences of a repeat in any competition could be extremely damaging for the club.

“The greatest asset Rangers has is its supporters, and the club will be forever grateful for the loyalty and backing you give at every match, both home and away.

“The one thing we all share is that burning desire to see Rangers win, and your loud, proud and colourful support can only aid that aim.

“Rangers is rightly proud of our multicultural men’s first-team squad and diverse support. Our Everyone Anyone campaign sends a clear message of inclusion and togetherness and a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of discrimination on and off the pitch.

Rangers are a modern football club, with support recognised across Europe for the positive way in which they back their team.

Songs and chants of a discriminatory nature have absolutely no place in 2025.

“As the men’s first-team continues their season domestically, supporters are reminded the SPFL have sanctions within their power to punish discriminatory chanting which would be extremely harmful to the club on and off the pitch.

“The manager and his players have expressed just how big an impact your fantastic support can have on performances – let’s ensure this is in the correct manner.”
