The tragic event took place on Friday when the Atlanta Police Department received a report of gunfire on William Nye Drive in Atlanta. The officers reached the location after getting a report of alleged gunfire and a woman being dragged inside the residence. When the officers knocked on the door, two males opened it but fled through the back door immediately after seeing the police. However, the police did not find any woman inside the house.

According to the reports by APD Lt. Andrew Smith, “One male returned back into the house. The other male jumped two fences as he was fleeing. When officers located him on the other side of the fence, he appeared to have suffered an injury to his leg“. The police took the injured person to the hospital, where he passed away (via 11 Alive).

The Atlanta police have said that no officers fired any shots, while the medical examiner’s office did not disclose the cause and manner of death. Later, through a Twitter post, it was declared that the injured person was identified as Kenneth Edward Bailey, aka Young Scooter. The autopsy report on Scooter’s death is still pending, which will reveal the actual cause of his death.

Born on March 28, 1986, in Walterboro, South Carolina, Young Scooter later moved to Atlanta with his family. Known as an improvisational rapper with a freestyle approach, he earned prominence in 2012 through the release of several successful mixtapes.

In 2019, he released another installment of his Street Lottery series called the Street Lottery Reloaded. Young Scooter also collaborated with Zaytoven on his album Zaystreet in 2020 (via Allmusic).
