‘This needs to be illegal’ people say as artist shows cover-up of bad tattoo and somehow makes it even WORSE

A TATTOO artist received backlash online after sharing a coverup job of one customer’s ink.

People said they would “press charges” if the left the parlour with the same result.

In her viral video, TikTok user and tattoo artist Ariel Dejesus (@arieldejesus2) shared a recent coverup she did for a customer.

The clip, which amassed 5.9 million views, caused a stir online as people shared their honest opinion on the new ink.

Originally, the tattoo, located on the side of the unnamed woman’s neck, said “Faith over fear”.

The inspirational phrase also included a feathered arrow piercing the words.

“I just don’t like the way it looks, you know how over time things change?” the customer explained.

“I said this is still a belief of course, I think I’m going to get it somewhere else.”

She decided to coverup the words on her neck, giving Ariel control over what her new ink would be.

The tattoo pro revealed that she charges $160 (£124) for any coverups.

After prepping the skin, the tattoo artist did a dramatic reveal for her audience.

She uncovered that tattoo to reveal a large colourful cupcake in place of the words.

Heaped with icing, the sweet treat was topped with a cherry and had four gold stars next to it.

Despite the busy design, the stencil of the words was still vaguely visible under the colours.

TikTok users shared their thoughts on the tattoo coverup in the comments section.

“I would press charges,” wrote one shocked viewer, while another joked: “This need to be illegal”.

“Full refund to that poor woman,” agreed another outraged follower.

Tattoo Do’s and Don’ts

    1. Think, think and think some more

Tattoos done on a whim are far more likely to lead to regret than a tattoo you thought long and hard about. Think about why you want what you’ve chosen. And if you still want it after a few months, then get it.

    2. Age restrictions apply

You must be 18 years old to be tattooed in the UK.

    3. Don’t haggle over the price

When you go to a tattoo shop the price is the price. You are paying for an artist’s time and skills, they charge what they believe those things are worth.

    4. Don’t get tattooed while you’re hungry

Eat before you go for your tattoo session and make sure you’re hydrated. You’re about to be subjected to a period of sustained physical discomfort, if you’re feeling a little weak from hunger or you’re dehydrated things will not go as smoothly as they should.

    5. Don’t drink alcohol before you get tattooed

If you are drunk or under the influence of drugs, don’t go for a tattoo. In fact, if your tattooist has anything at all about them they will turn you away if you are clearly under the influence of any intoxicating substances.  I’d also avoid drinking the night before, even a few drinks will thin your blood and make your bleed more.

“Oh, you ruined her life,” said a third commenter.

“This would be my 13th reason,” shared another baffled TikTok user.

“The four different stars? The colour scheme? Omggggg, no,” wrote one viewer.

“Yeah, I’m opening up a laser tattoo removal shop next door to you,” joked another person.

“How to turn a small problem into a big problem 101,” commented one follower.
