The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives cast has been through a lot — but can they weather the storm of another season of the show?
The reality show premiered in September 2024 and became an overnight success as viewers tuned in to see Taylor Frankie Paul, Whitney Leavitt, Jen Affleck, Demi Engemann, Mikayla Matthews, Mayci Neeley, Jessi Ngatikaura and Layla Taylor navigate their personal highs and lows. The inaugural eight-part season followed Mormon mom influencers who were caught up in a swinging sex scandal and the aftermath, including the fallout with their significant others.
After The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives premiered, executive producers Jeff Jenkins and Danielle Pistotnik exclusively spoke with Us Weekly about their plans for the future.
“There’s so many stories that these women have to share,” Pistotnik told Us for a September 2024 cover story. “Their upbringing is unbelievably heartbreaking — a lot of them — and it is so inspiring to listen to.”
Meet the Women Behind MomTok on ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’
Pistotnik recalled production not having “enough time” to share everyone’s story properly, adding, “If we get to do another season, I really, really want these women to be able to talk about what brought them to where they are today. [Scenes that ended up on the cutting room floor] was really just a function of the amount of time that we had.”
Jenkins, meanwhile, reflected on the origins of the show.
“The vision for the show never changed in that it is one part very loud and frothy soap opera with a little bit of cheating. But then at the same time, you have this fascinating exploration of a religious faith,” the executive producer told Us about keeping the various storylines “balanced” on screen. “Another producer might have just went with the salacious scandal of swinging and ignored the religion. Or another producer might have really focused on the religion and downplayed everyday life and all the other stuff.”
He continued: “The vision was always a balance. We tinkered with that balance but we certainly didn’t want to just condemn the Mormon faith. Not at all. Religion has challenges within it and things that some folks would like to be changed. So it’s finding the balance between the soap opera and this very real conundrum that they’re bumping up against their faith.”
One month later, Hulu renewed the show for 20 episodes. The cast, however, has kept the drama alive regardless with offscreen splits, feuds and more. Keep scrolling for everything to know about season 2 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives:
Which Cast Members Make Up Season 2?

Taylor, Jen, Demi, Jessi, Mikayla, Mayci and Layla are all returning to the show for another season, Hulu confirmed in March.
Is Whitney Coming Back?

The season 1 finale left Whitney’s future on the show unclear, but she has since confirmed her return.
In September 2024, Jenkins spoke to Us about the producers hoping that Whitney would come back even though she left MomTok, adding, “If we get a pickup for season 2, there’s so much more to her story and her evolution as a human being and as a woman living in the Mormon faith. Whether she’s in or out of the group, I want her to be in the show.”
Whitney’s return was officially revealed in March.
How Many Episodes Can Fans Expect — And When?

Hulu picked the show up for another 20 episodes, which will be released in two separate seasons. The streaming service announced in March that season 2 will consist of 10 episodes released on Thursday, May 15.
Are More MomTok Members Joining the Cast?

Years before The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives premiered on Hulu, MomTok became a TikTok craze in 2020. The interest intensified when Taylor revealed in 2022 that she indulged in “soft swinging” with other people’s partners — and was subsequently going through a divorce from ex-husband Tate Paul.
Despite soft swinging not being the entire point of the show, Jenkins said the door is open for other past participants to speak out.
“There are some missing pieces to the story. Because when you really pull it apart in our season, Taylor Frankie Paul is the only one who was actually there. She was boots on the ground for the soft swinging. So there are some of Taylor’s other MomTok pals who we’re looking at,” he teased to Us. “There are holes in the story and there’s more to say. Every season of a successful show, I’d love to introduce a new cast member or two. It just keeps it alive and interesting and gives a new perspective.”
‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Then vs. Now: How Cast Looked Pre-Hulu Show
Taylor initially remained tight-lipped about the other original members of MomTok involved in the sex scandal. Miranda McWhorter and Camille Mundy have since been named as potential participants — and Taylor told Us she won’t be surprised to see them on season 2.
“It’s out of my control and they have a show to do. So I don’t see how it wouldn’t be happening,” she shared with Us in September 2024. “A lot of those things will be triggering — and when it comes to it — I’ll have to face it. At this point it’s just out of my control.”
According to Taylor, Camille reached out to congratulate her on the show. Miranda, however, hasn’t been as friendly.
“There’s some animosity there from me exposing my story and knowing that she’s probably the one people allude to. So she probably feels all this animosity toward me,” she explained at the time. “I’ve called her out on certain things so I don’t know if she’s a huge fan of me. I could imagine it’s extremely uncomfortable for her to have to come on if she chose to. I think she knows that she’d have to talk about things if she is never talked about as well.”
Miranda made her Secret Lives of Mormon Wives debut in the season 2 teaser, which dropped in March.
Will Season 2 Offer an Update on Each Couple?

Since filming wrapped, Taylor and her boyfriend Dakota Mortensen sparked split — and reconciliation — rumors several times over.
Jen also remained tight-lipped on her relationship status with husband Zac Affleck after season 1 showed the issues in their marriage. However, she announced in February that she and Zac are expecting their third baby.
Both relationships are expected to be addressed during season 2.
What Does the 1st Look at Season 2 Reveal?

Hulu released the first trailer for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 2 on March 10. In the video, Whitney revealed she doesn’t know where she stands with the women. “They’re holding grudges because I don’t even know why,” Whitney explained.
Taylor, meanwhile, was seen arguing with her on-again, off-again boyfriend Dakota in the teaser, while Jen received what appeared to be a bouquet of apology flowers from her husband, Zac.
Which TV Shows Are Renewed in 2025-2026?
The video also revealed two men getting into a fight and the police being called, but Mayci vowed that “MomTok survives” while sharing a toast with the group.
The biggest bombshell came when Miranda — who was involved in Taylor’s group of soft-swingers — arrived at a group event. “Is that Miranda?” one of the wives asked as the camera showed Miranda in a cowboy hat, cutoff black shorts and a white tank top.
Demi ended the teaser by saying, “Honestly, the show must go on.”
