Billy Joel Reveals ‘Medical Condition’
On March 11, 2025, a post on Billy’s official Instagram account revealed that he would be rescheduling his upcoming tour dates due to health issues.
“Billy Joel’s upcoming concert dates will be rescheduled due to a medical condition,” the post said. “The current tour will be postponed for four months to allow him to recover from recent surgery and to undergo physical therapy under the supervision of his doctors. Joel is expected to make a full recovery. The tour will resume at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh on July 5, 2025.”
The post did not specify what medical condition Billy is currently dealing with.
Billy Joel Spoke Out After Surgery
The Instagram post included a statement from Billy.
“While I regret postponing any shows, my health must come first. I look forward to getting back on stage and sharing the joy of live music with our amazing fans. Thank you for your understanding,” he said.
Also included in the post was a list of rescheduled concert dates for the singer, along with several dates including Stevie Nicks and Sting.
Fans Show Support for Billy Joel Amid Health Woes
In the comments section of the post, Billy’s supporters shared kind messages to rally around him amid his recovery.
“Take whatever time you need for you to heal. Stay healthy,” one person wrote. “We need you around a long time.!”
“Take care of yourself! Your adoring fans can wait and understand!” another person said.
“We want you to feel your best and to take care of yourself,” a third person wrote.

Billy Joel Previously Canceled Concert Due to ‘Medical Procedure’
At the start of the year 2025, Billy previously postponed a concert at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood.
“Billy Joel at Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood originally scheduled for Friday, Jan. 17, has been rescheduled for Saturday, Nov. 1 at 8 p.m. because of a medical procedure,” a post on his Instagram account on January 10, 2025 said.
“‘I’m disappointed to share that I must postpone my concert at Hard Rock Live,’” he said. “‘I appreciate your understanding and look forward to seeing everyone in November.’”
“For guests who have already purchased tickets, all tickets for the originally scheduled Friday, Jan. 17 will remain valid for the rescheduled date. Guests who can no longer attend can get refunds at point of purchase within 60 days, by Tuesday, March 11,” the post said.
At the time, fans wished him well and showed their support.
