‘Promising striker’ once of Rangers in line for €750k exit eight months after signing new three-year deal

A FORMER Rangers starlet is reportedly closing in on a switch between European clubs.

That’s despite signing a three-year extension with his current side just EIGHT MONTHS ago.

Robbie Ure was a highly-regarded talent at Rangers after starring at youth level.

The forward even struck on his Gers debut in a 3-1 win over Queen of the South in the Premier Sports Cup.

But he only managed two league appearances in his time at Ibrox, and after failing to make the breakthrough under Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Michael Beale, secured a move to the continent with Belgian giants Anderlecht in 2023.

The 21-year-old went straight into RSCA Future youth team in Belgium‘s second tier, although did make his first-team debut off the bench last season.

And he appeared to be making a good impression as he won a three-year contract extension from manager Roel Clement in July, just before the new campaign kicked off.

But that seemed to be a false dawn for Ure as he’s exclusively played for the youth team again this term, and has now been linked with a move across Europe by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

Romano posted: “Scottish striker Robbie Ure will be traveling to Sweden soon in order to sign in as new IK Sirius player.

“Deal of up to €750k with sell on clauses for RSC Anderlecht for the promising striker.”

Sirius finished 9th of 16 teams in the Swedish top flight last term, with the new Allsvenskan season kicking off at the end of this month.

Meanwhile, current Gers star Hamza Igamane is closing in on a career milestone.

The Moroccan is currently enduring a ten-game scoring drought with the Ibrox side, despite enjoying a spell of 12 goals in 14 matches earlier in the season.

But the 22-year-old has still been named in Morocco‘s squad for World Cup qualifiers against Niger and Tanzania in this month’s international break.

And the forward could be in line to win his first cap for the Africans after an injury to Olympiacos striker Ayoub El Kaabi.
