Daredevil is back and how! Charlie Cox’s return as the masked vigilante has sent shockwaves throughout the fandom and even those who doubted Daredevil: Born Again are completely hooked. From unexpected deaths to emerging villains, Born Again has got it all. Right from the first episode, the Disney+ series has not disappointed. Let’s just say that waiting for the third episode to drop is taking a toll on us all. We want answers!

The series is bringing a fresh villain into the mix and he is unlike anything we have seen before – Muse. For those well-versed in Marvel Comics, you know that the white-masked man does not come to play. Needless to say, fans have their own theories about how Muse’s story will play out in Born Again and how it may change Wilson Fisk’s path.
Daredevil: Born Again‘s new villain kills Vanessa Fisk?

Well, that’s what the theory says.
Vanessa Marianna-Fisk, aka Wilson Fisk’s wife, has taken over her husband’s criminal empire amidst his absence. The first two episodes of Daredevil: Born Again reveal that the couple is going through a low point in their relationship, but worry not, at least they’re attending couples’ therapy!
In the first episode of the series, Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson assures Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), that he has stuck with the promise he made as both men seemingly leave their alter egos behind.
Now, here’s where the theory comes into play. According to a fan on X, Marvel Cinematic Universe’s newest villain, Muse, will be the one to push Wilson over the edge and back into his old ways. How? By killing his wife, Vanessa.

For those who don’t know Muse, he is the villain that is going to haunt your dreams for weeks to come. The deranged serial killer turns worthless humans (in his eyes), into meaningful pieces of art with the use of their blood, organs, and bodies.

Muse does not care about his victims. He will torture and mutilate them in the name of art, and of course, his God complex doesn’t help the situation as well. Come on, the guy killed himself in the comics by walking into fire, refusing death from Blindspot’s hands.
Given his horrifying ways, if Muse ends up turning Vanessa into his latest artwork for Wilson to see, it goes without saying that the crime lord will not rest without revenge, eventually falling back into his old life.
Vanessa Fisk actress talks Daredevil: Born Again

While Sandrine Holt was originally going to play Mrs. Fisk in Born Again, the show’s creative overhaul brought back the OG actress who played the role in the Netflix original, Ayelet Zurer. Looks like the show went through a number of changes before we got the polished version!
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter at the premiere of the series, Zurer opened up about her emotions and what it was like returning to play Vanessa.
In her words, she “loved every moment of making it and coming back to this again, doing it with all these amazing, beautiful people.” She gave a special shoutout to her “buddy” D’Onofrio before moving onto talking about her emotions on the first day of being on set.
When asked if she thought she’d be back in Vanessa’s shoes again, Zurer stated,
No, this came for me as a surprise. I did not expect it. When it came through I was a little bit nervous…But I have to say, the minute I stepped into the room and wore those outfits and put on those shoes that I never wear, I immediately found her. It was so exciting. It was so much fun to go back to that.
Honestly, we are glad that Marvel was able to get all our favorites returned for the reboot, and Zurer playing Vanessa again is simply the cherry on top. Now, only time will tell if she meets her end at the hands of the villainous artist or not.
