Kate O’Connor has secured a stunning bronze medal in the women’s pentathlon at the European Indoor Championships in Apeldoorn, delivering a career-best performance to reach the podium.
The Newry athlete produced four personal bests throughout the gruelling five-event competition.
She positioned herself perfectly heading into the 800m finale, where she delivered the crucial performance needed to clinch third place.
