But the world No.1 won’t care player after he bagged a £30,000 prize.
Any player who hits a perfect nine-dart leg during this year’s BetMGM Premier League season will win a custom-made set of solid gold darts – worth £30,000.
Cool Hand Luke sent the crowd into frenzy with nine perfect darts against Rob Cross in their first match in Brighton on Thursday.
With it, the 30-year-old star secured a 2-0 leg advantage over Cross.
Humphries wanted to get off to a perfect start after his recent dramas with James Wade at the UK Open on Sunday.
The close contest was etched in controversy, after Wade appeared to lick Humphries’ neck before the action got underway.
Humphries, 30, didn’t respond at the time – but bumped shoulders with Wade rather than shaking hands after his 10-9 defeat.
But despite his quick fire, money-making start, Humphries suffered more heartbreak on Thursday.

Cross didn’t let the nine-darter sway him as he beat Humphries 6-4 to advance to the semis.
Voltage went on to hit seven 180s and smashed in a D18 to send last week’s winner Humphries packing.
The 34-year-old will play the winner of Stephen Bunting and Nathan Aspinall next.
