Dylan Mulvaney visited The Drew Barrymore Show and spoke with actress Drew Barrymore about her transition to becoming a woman. The host asked her guest, “Where do you find the strength to keep being the joy?” which Mulvaney answered promptly.
A few moments later, the Charlie’s Angels star approached and knelt in front of Mulvaney while saying, “Do you want to know ironically who dislikes me the most sometimes? Myself.” Barrymore pulled her guest for an embrace before they sat and spoke on the floor. She said the ground always feels safer.
Megyn Kelly discussed the scenario on her channel and expressed her embarrassment over the actress’ behavior. “There’s so many things that infuriate me about this clip,” she started and went on to imitate Barrymore’s manner of speaking. The journalist revealed how much she hated the fake smile and the fake acting, stating that she’s playing “the part of woke, weak, white woman praying at the transgender altar.”
Later in the video, the journalist suggested that perhaps she should do the next presidential debate from the floor in reference to Barrymore’s earlier statement. A more enraged Kelly asked, “How weak is she? To me, it goes back to what we’re saying before. Where are the strong women?”
The famed media personality found the interview insulting as she figured Barrymore was displaying “false strength by showing every weakness coming out of your pores.” She also commented that Mulvaney was the one who acted normal in the interview.
Most fans shared Kelly’s reaction towards the infamous scene, stating that they also found it deeply mortifying to see Barrymore act in such a way.

The Duchess of Sussex did not appear too bothered by the actress’ extreme closeness and even emphasized the importance of human connection.
It may have become her signature way of interviewing people on the daytime show, but many viewers find it uncomfortable, even a chore to get through the whole episode. As Kelly pointed out, Barrymore seemingly acts in many of her interviews instead of truly having a genuine conversation with her guests.
