What is Kevin Feige Cooking? Some Avengers Will Reportedly Become Evil, Side With Doom in Secret Wars – “To them, Doom is their savior”

The upcoming two films, Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, are going to be epic entries into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While the former will introduce Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctom Doom, the latter will feature one of the biggest comic book events of all time in the Marvel comics. And as reports suggest, everything is reportedly shaping up pretty nicely for Marvel Studios, who had to make last-minute changes in their plans after firing Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror.

Recently, industry insider Alex Perez held another Discord Q&A for the Cosmic Circle, revealing some exciting details about the upcoming two films and sharing sneak peeks about our favorite Marvel characters.

Marvel comics’ Secret Wars event is probably the grandest of events in the history of comics. Featuring our favorite superheroes fighting for their fates and the fate of the universe on the mysterious planet called Battleworld, the event will be overseen by Doctor Doom, to be portrayed by Robert Downey Jr. in the upcoming two Avengers films.

While details regarding the movies are scarce, industry insider Alex Perez recently shared some interesting details about the upcoming two films, revealing what Marvel boss Kevin Feige might have been cooking all this time (via The Cosmic Circle). During a Discord Q&A, Perez was asked by a fan the following question:

One of the most intriguing aspects in the prelude to Secret Wars (2015) was the moral decline of many heroes as incursions became more prominent. In Avengers: Doomsday, can we expect some heroes to delve into morally ambiguous territory to deal with incursions as their situation becomes more desperate?

In reply to the above question, Perez revealed the following:

Yes, yes, yes, and yes… I love. Yes, you could expect to see that. Especially the ones that side with Doom. To them, Doom is their savior.

While he did not reveal which of our favorites would go over to the Doom camp, it makes sense for some of the Avengers to end up following Doom after being done with the increasing incursions into their timelines. Moreover, Doom wants to stop the incursions from happening and stop the multiverse from entirely collapsing on itself, he would be branded a hero by many.

Hence, Alex Perez reckons that it would be much better if fans stopped thinking about him as the ultimate villain but rather treat him as more of an antagonist who believes he is a hero, just like Thanos did.

Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars will reportedly outdo previous entries

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has given us several brilliant films, but none have come close to the brilliance that Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame were. Perfectly balanced, despite the many characters and storylines present, the two films are some of the finest comic book movies ever to have been made.

However, the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars are reportedly going to be bigger and grander than the serious MCU films. In a recent interview with GamesRadar+, the Russo Brothers addressed their approach towards the two films. Joe stated that they want to outdo themselves:

Absolutely, we want to beat those younger versions of ourselves. We have to be, right? Because we have to outdo those movies in a way, or we at least have to take you on an equally engaging journey.

Meanwhile, Anthony added,

These movies are an incredible opportunity for us, and they’re an incredible opportunity for audiences. So we’re doing what we can to deliver the experience everyone, I think, hopes for.

Given the previous work of the directing duo in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they aren’t lying when they say that the upcoming two films will be better or equally exciting as their previous MCU films. Well, we can hardly wait to watch what the Russo Brothers and Kevin Feige have been prepping.

Avengers: Doomsday will be released in May 2026, while Avengers: Secret Wars will hit theaters in May 2027.
