Daredevil: Born Again kicked off Matt Murdock’s soft-rebooted tale with the shocking death of a major character. In the first few minutes, we see Charlie Cox’s Murdock, Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page, and Elden Henson’s Foggy Nelson having a night out together. Little do we suspect anything to go wrong immediately.
We get to see Matt suit up as Daredevil after Foggy gets a call from a distressed client. However, Matt realizes a little late that the target of the attack is actually Foggy. Wilson Bethel’s Bullseye appears and shoots Foggy and a fight ensues between him and Daredevil. At the end of the fight, Matt throws him off a roof after realizing that Foggy succumbed to his death.
One fan theory suggests Foggy Nelson faked his death in Daredevil: Born Again
Many fans weren’t ready to accept the fact that Daredevil: Born Again would bring back the old trio just so that they could kill one of them. There were speculations earlier that the series would kill either Karen or Foggy by the end of the series. What they didn’t expect was such a brutal death, that too within the first few minutes of the series.
However, not all fans are convinced about Elden Henson‘s character’s death. His cryptic conversation with Benny, his client, and Bullseye’s very public execution have raised suspicions among fans about his death. One fan on Reddit complained that Foggy was killed off without any explanation, which was frustrating to watch.
Another Reddit fan responded to the comment and shared that Foggy could’ve faked his death for some unknown reason. They shared that Deborah Ann Woll‘s Karen Page appeared to be hiding something when they had the conversation outside the courtroom. The fan suggested that Karen could be in on Foggy’s plan.

However, the fan didn’t have any explanation as to why either Foggy or Karen hid anything from Matt Murdock. This theory is one possible way in which Daredevil: Born Again could bring Foggy back from death. I clearly don’t see the point in bringing back Foggy, but some fans believe what the show did was an injustice to the character and actor. Some fan reactions read:

During an interview with Brandon Davis, Head of Marvel Television Brad Winderbaum shared that both Foggy and Karen would be back in Season 2 of the series. However, it could be possible that Foggy’s appearance would be a flashback scene instead of the show bringing him back from death.
I believe Foggy Nelson is not coming back from his death
As much as I am sad like every other Daredevil fan by the death of fan-favorite Foggy Nelson, I believe that his death is a done deal. While the fan suspicions might be valid and we might get some answers to them soon, there’s one thing that fans seem to forget with their “Foggy is faking his death” theories.
Charlie Cox‘s character can hear even your heartbeat and he would’ve instantly realized if Foggy was alive. When Daredevil throws Bullseye off the top of the building, he is convinced that Foggy is dead. Foggy and Karen also know that they can’t hide such a thing from Matt because of his super senses.
In my calculated guess, MCU will not bring Foggy back to life. Fans could still see Elden Henson in the second-season episodes, which is the only positive takeaway as of now.
