According to a new update, the explosion at Odumase, near Konongo in the Asante Akyem Central Municipality of the Ashanti Region, has claimed three lives, with two more victims succumbing to their injuries.
The blast, which occurred on Wednesday night, also left several others injured, including firefighters who responded to the scene.
While most of the injured have been treated and discharged, about five victims remain hospitalized.
Medical officials indicate that two critically injured patients may be transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for advanced care.
Authorities continue to assess the situation as investigations into the cause of the explosion unfold.
